Baker & A Black Cat is a cottage bakery nestled in the heart of Placerville, independently owned and operated by Nikki Ozawa. After graduating with high honors from Le Cordon Bleu in patisserie and baking, she worked in the production bakery at Epcot, Walt Disney World, opening her bakery after returning to the Greater Sacramento area.
Specializing in clean and elegant cake designs, Nikki is known for her attention to detail and a focus on quality ingredients. Working with both buttercream and sugarpaste, each creation is meticulously crafted to provide a distinctive experience.
Nikki’s passion for baking and her unique personal touches have led to her cakes making appearances on Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks, and Hey Wedding Lady; as well as being honored as one of the Top Ten Wedding Cake Bakers in the Greater Sacramento area.
If Nikki isn’t designing cakes, you might find her snuggled up with her not-black-but-orange cat Gambit🐈, reading a book📚, or wondering when she can have her next cup of coffee☕️.
